Actress Brittany Curran, who appeared in the Syfy fantasy series “The Magicians” and Netflix’s “Dear White People,” was arrested for public intoxication after being reported by her neighbors in Burbank, police told NBC4 Investigates Friday.
The incident happened Oct. 19 on West Palm Avenue, off the 5 Freeway near Magnolia Boulevard, at around 2 a.m., Burbank police said. Someone called authorities, reporting that a “suspicious person” was knocking on a door.
When officers responded, they found 36-year-old Curran, who showed “objective” signs of alcohol intoxication, police said.
When Curran refused to comply with officers’ repeated requests to return to her nearby home, she was arrested and booked on suspicion of public intoxication/disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor. She was cited and released a few hours later, police said.
NBCLA reached out to Curran’s representatives.
Curran was seen picketing alongside fellow SAG-AFTRA members during the 2023 entertainment industry strikes.
The actress is best known for playing Fen in the Syfy fantasy series “The Magicians” and has also appeared in TNT’s “Men of a Certain Age” and Netflix’s “Dear White People.”
